Empowering Rural India
Fostering Community Engagement Now
PURA (Providing Urban Amenities to Rural Areas), envisioned by former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and further articulated in the book Target 3 Billion co-authored with Shri Srijan Pal Singh, is a development philosophy centred on inclusive, sustainable and balanced growth. The vision seeks to bridge the rural-urban divide by strengthening rural and ecologically sensitive regions through essential infrastructure, knowledge connectivity, livelihood generation and social empowerment, while preserving local communities, cultural heritage and environmental sustainability. PURA emphasises development that enhances human well-being and national progress without causing irreversible ecological destruction or distress-driven displacement.
